Thank you so much Joel and Aron for this podcast episode ❤ I'm so glad that I found this video today cuz I've been having some really hard times over the last few years and it's been going on and off for me since then, and hearing your guys' personal experiences with social anxiety and depression and all of the tips that you two shared really helped me know that I'm not alone and that talking to my family and friends about these things shouldn't be something for me to feel embarrassed about. My sister actually reached out to me to talk to me about me struggling recently and gave me a journal to write down my thoughts instead of keeping it all bottled inside too, so it was really nice to hear how writing in a journal has helped Joel heal. And I'm so glad to hear that both of you are doing much better and are in a much better place now when it comes to your mental health 💗 Thank you guys for all the comfort and advice that you shared with me and all the other listeners here with this episode, and I wish the both of you to be healthy and happy too! 🥰🍀

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever reclined the seat when flying. Economy is uncomfortable anyways as Joel said so I always just suck it up. And reclining the seat never really made it more comfortable so I never quite bothered to. But then again, the reclining feature is part of the cost of the flight so the person in front certainly has the right to recline however they want, provided that they are not causing serious hurt to the person behind.

Someone said about target audience in comment..really great 👍 appreciate that. For me i can say how important it is to find the niche for the podcast. It is not easy. I consider KCB as ex-idols, millenials, Korean-American. They can talk various topics as they said in description "general everyday life" and things about k-entertainment industry come out here and there naturally bcs their work environment and its good. I also appreciate they dont talk so much about gossips and talk more about how to navigate through life, overcome crisis, and better ourselves. They can be funny, serious, silly, awkward, uncertain, nostalgic, and so on.

KCB is on Sunday..so everytime i got eps that i really like just like this eps...i consider this as reward for hardwork during previous week and a motivation to do best for the week ahead. Have a blessed week KCB and everyone...i mean it ❤!

While I love this podcast, I think I also figured out why I don’t always look forward to it and watch it right away. I don’t feel like I’m truly the target group for it, in a strange way. It feels a bit like a guys talk podcast, where the main audience would be guys. The target audience is in a bit of a strange place. Guys talk, based in Korea but in English, you are mostly known from kpop. The episodes I’ve probably enjoyed most have been the kpop talk episodes or the ones focusing on friends and personal stories, also guests. If you’re doing exactly what you want to be doing and this is the content you want, then I support you and will continue to tune in when I’m in the mood :) But if you want to grow the channel, then I feel like the identity and target group likely needs to be clearer defined and cover a wider group than now. Since I’m pretty sure your main audience now are women into kpop, some kind of kpop reactions and “insider gossip” topic would probably be the safest content to grow in that group. If you instead continue on the guys talk theme, I’m not sure how well the kpop and Korea theme works. A target group of Asian American guys maybe? It’s not really my area of expertise, but maybe if you have a chat with your American guy friends and do a honest review what they like with your podcast and what does not go down as well in that target group? It will likely take longer to grow in that target group and you’ll likely lose the current women kpop fan audience, but I think you could do it :) And ofc I support you now too, even if I feel like the target group is a bit all over the place!

I get awkward with preachy religious people. Almost got scammed joining into a cult so I'm all the more suspicious nowadays when people try to make me join their church. I think I'm the same age as Joel, but my long time online friends are younger than me so I've picked up the knowledge on their lingo. Not that I use it. Plus, there are some acronyms that still confuse me.

It's hot where I live. And I agree with Aaron and Joel on the red flags. But I will say that you will never know who you are really hanging out with if you don't at least some times hear people out, because I find people who I might not agree with can be the best friend or partner in life. As long as it's not like what's happening with the who's running for the President of the US. Be truthful with the people you meet , cause it may limit your ability to find the right Person to spend the rest of your life with, I am speaking from experience. The good one got away. But don't pick the gold digger or, some one to loud.

In my opinion I'm not in favor of a surrogate unless there are medical reasons why the woman cannot carry the baby herself. There are some things that can't be experienced if you have a surrogate. Reclining the plane seat back is a difficult topic. For short people it's not a problem but for tall people it can be. Personally everyone paid for their seat and should be able to recline if they chose too but during meal time I think all seats should be upright. My husband is tall so he always wants an isle seat or exit row seat, unless we are in first class. Unfortunately over the years the airlines has shorten the distance between the rows in order to add a few extra rows for revenue.

idk if you guys know this but the gayborhood is a real thing. if you go on google maps it's labelled officially as so. the person filming purposely went into that space and started spewing anti gay bible reteric ex: "god can save your soul". i don't think screaming your head off is the most reasonable sane thing to do, but harassing random people on the street isn't either.

I would be more inclined to have kids if being pregnant and giving birth in the US alone wasn't so expensive. You guys do seem super kind and humble and that's why I support you guys. You are both 90s babies 😂 I prefer proper English as well I am not cool and too much of a nerd to understand cool people lingo. 😊 I think it's not fair to tell people they can't put their seat back on a plane. I only have flown in the US and i love looking out the window (except the one time where the person in the middle was terrified of heights so I didn't look out the window I'm not an AH) so i dont sleep on flights because i have never taken a long flight before so I never try to recline my seat at all but I don't get upset if others do.

The healthcare system in Korea alone makes me want to move Living in the states with any medical conditions is just unreasonable 😵😭

Well, as long as it's talked about from the beginning, I think it wouldn't leave room for feeling appreciated enough to feel bad if the relationship ends. Many forget this conversation and make their partner suffer unnecessarily in the marriage. Surrogate mother, it's complicated, I'm personally not in favor of it because surrogate mothers are usually poor women who are used for external benefit, but I saw women who do it from the heart, so it depends a lot on the women involved.

I'm going to preface this long comment with an anecdote about my younger cousins born in 2002 and 2005. I like old music because of our shared grandmother, who LOVED Elvis so much my mother was named after his daughter. And my cousins were at my house a couple of years ago. I put on Elvis. And 2005 said "I don't get what the big deal about Elvis is. It's not like he's a rockstar or anything." 2002 and I both turned on her and in sync said "He's called the KING OF ROCK AND ROLL." That was the moment I realized the younger generation doesn't care about history like they should. New story time. So I got into KPop in Aug 2023 because I was bored and watched Alchemy of Souls the beginning of July (my first Kdrama, and I thought it was Chinese until I looked at the actor names and went "Oh, Korean. Okay.") Seo Yul was one of my two favorites so I looked up the actor, Minhyun. And then at the end of the July, I started watching Korean Odyssey and absolutely fell in love with Let Me Out. One of my favorite songs ever. And there was an intersection between Minhyun and Let Me Out and so I started listening to NU'EST. And I put my official kpop starting date at Aug 12, because that was the first time I listened to Face on Spotify, which was my top listen for the year (and will likely be again this year). Even before I had gone through their discography (and I still don't think I've fully listened to every song for the reason I am about to give), I was looking up who they listened to, which led me to early second and first gen groups. And I was also looking at contemporaries of NU'EST because I wanted to know how they fit into the kpop sound and timeline (I'll get to BTS eventually but there are so many others...). And the Rage I feel when I think about NU'EST for too long drove me to need an emotional support group, which is BTOB, and they led me off to find a whole lot of other groups. I'm fairly well spread knowledge-wise across the different generations (which is why I was so EXCITED when g.o.d. was announced for KCon this year and then horrified by the lack of awareness of them in comments), though fifth gen is where I'm definitely lacking and why I like ASC because it gives me an intersection between the newer groups I don't and my first group. Now, granted, I am quite a bit older than the average new kpop listener. I'm two days younger than Ren. But it doesn't make sense to me that you can listen to someone and know everything about them and not also want to know who they look up to. BoA is essentially Elvis. Many, many musical roads lead back to them and music today would not be where it is without them. I managed that in less than a year while learning Korean and while working. It disappoints me how little respect goes to the pathfinders and trailblazers and giants of industry anymore.

Ohh please tell the story again..about Aaron helping a child during emergency situation in a flight...not for bragging ofc just more detailed story...that moment if we try to connect all stories...seem random...Aaron went to Korea learned Korean and at one moment in the sky..a life saving moment... he was the only bilinguals Korean English..life is not coincidence at all... 😮

I really like hiking eps, anime, and insecurities eps. For me what makes a good episode? There must be something about authenticity bcs KCB talked about their experiences and views (as ex-idols, millenials, Korean American), so many laughters, nostalgia, and insecurities is very much relatable eps like Deep talk. Topics suggestions (guess they are not funny like Joel wished..sorry)...but i think of these: green flag red flag people, family history like Joel said how much we know how our great grandfather lived, are people with the same family name in korea actually from the same ancestor? Items from family that accompany you the longest, talking about breaking the bad habits? Asian values, how to show gratitude to someone, how to handle haters..umm your characters that you like the most and help you thrive ...yupp...hopefully useful 😉

Despite all the interesting stuff, Elon Musk is doing a lot of weird, perverted stuff too....

As an American I don’t understand the “celebrities can’t get married” thing. Idols apologizing to fans for dating. It’s such an interesting cultural phenomenon. I just want the celebrities I enjoy so much to be happy.
